PRAYER FOR TODAY

Many aspects of our writing have been touched upon in our last few posts.
As I rode from our Illinois home to our home in Florida this past week, I had much time to think about all that we have written. I thought about our goals as a group, the ideas we have for perhaps writing a Bible Study, and our plans for participating in NaNoWriMo in November. And I found myself praying.

“O Lord, our plans are for You. We are writing to give You praise and worship. It is for You we write these words whether they be fiction or non-fiction, prose or poetry, serious or silly. Keep us focused on the plans we have made and the reason we are writing. As we go through this period of more intense writing, help us that we do not neglect our families, our church family or the daily tasks you have blessed us with .

As we write this month,Lord, give us ideas, give us words, give us time to write whatever it is that You want us to tell those who read our words. And,Lord, if these words we write are only for us, may we learn from this experience. May our writing give us a sense of accomplishment and more insight into ourselves and our abilities as Your wordsmiths.

I pray this prayer for all those throughout the world who have joined in this endeavor. In Your Precious Son’s Name, Amen."

May you be blessed as you write this month whether you are participating in NaNoWriMo or not.

Clella, thank you for reminding me the purpose of our writing. I'm so glad God can even make sense of my mess in life and writing.

You're an encouragement, Clella -- and a great reminder of why we write. Thanks for this.
